ENGINES:
All engines are completely disassembled and cleaned. Blocks, heads,
connecting rods, crankshafts and camshafts for all engines are thoroughly
cleaned, deburned and shot blasted to remove all contaminants that can
result in premature wear to internal engine components and early engine
failure.
CRANKSHAFTS:
Crankshafts are precision machined to exact tolerances and we slowly regrind
each crankshaft to insure exact dimensions. All bearing surfaces main and
rod journals and thrust surfaces are precision machined to an 8-12
micro-inch finish. All crankshafts are supplied at no greater that .030
undersize and all are accurately polished to a mirror smoothness. Every
journal is inspected and measured with critical accuracy. After machining,
oil holes are chamfered to improve lubrication and every journal polished to
a smooth finish for long bearing life.
CYLINDERHEADS:
Cylinderheads are thoroughly magnafluxed, pressure tested, and inspected to
locate any cracks and flaws. New rocker studs are installed to O.E.M. specs.
Springs are cleaned, properly tested and installed with shims to O.E.M.
specs to maintain tension. Valve guides are machined or replaced with new
bronze guide liners to maintain O.E.M. tolerances.
CONNECTINGRODS:
Connecting rods are machined, gauged and individually torqued and checked
against master. Rods are then machined to the standards of original
equipment and are checked for bend and twist.
CAMSHAFTS:
Camshafts are inspected for wear, dimensional accuracy and for straightness.
Camshaft lobes are machined to correct specifications. Any camshaft not
meeting exact specifications are replaced with new camshafts.
ASSEMBLY:
Every engine is precisely assembled by trained Recon team members, most of
which are ASE certified. Attention to such details as a final wash of new
and machined parts and pre-lubricated camshafts, pistons, and crankshaft
journals assures a clean and smooth running engine that performs to your
expectations.
TESTING: Every engine undergoes a 15-minute test with all readouts including
temperature, oil pressure, vacuum pressure, and compression logged into a
computer.
RANDOM ENGINE INSPECTION:
At regular intervals, an engine is pulled at random from the assembly line,
completely torn down and all key dimensions, specs and finishes are
verified.

ECONOMIC SENSE:
They add years of life to older vehicles at one-tenth the cost of a new car
or light truck.
QUALITY SENSE:
A quality-remanufactured engine has been restored to original equipment (O.E.)
specifications. Due to improvements the remanufacturer adds, a
remanufactured engine can actually be better that a new engine of the same
type.
ENVIRONMENTAL SENSE:
Each remanufactured engine recycles hundreds of pounds of metal and other
materials that would otherwise occupy landfills. |
